Mystery tree and cherry crop

We have been unable to identify a tree in our small courtyard garden since moving here in October. At that time there were small apricot-like fruit on the tree and since then it has shed old leaves, always replacing these with new ones.

Quince and boxberry

I have a quince tree which for the past few years has flowered profusely in the spring, set some fruit and had normal leaf cover. Then about the middle of June the leaves developed brown spots which gradually joined up and the leaves went brown from the tip.
