If so you will know  that under these conditions the messages from the board makes no sense whatsoever which can only lead you to believe that the board's messages are created by the users surrounding the board. I use the board all the time on my own and I never have any problems with it (mainly because the thing never moves at all) and why is this? Its because I use it on my own and therefore there  is no one else to push it! Its all psychological nothing more!    Report

I have heard of people that have used one & have gone stark raving mad, after they then believe that they have been possessed by an evil spirit. Weather in the mind or spiritual, the dangers are real. As far as mediums are concerned,  mediums have been trained to use protection (For themselves & others) before & after using an ouija board. If you dont know how to protect yourself against evil spirits, don't use it. Effects of such things. I know a friend who after seeing the film the Exorcist thought that she was possessed when things suddenly went wrong in her life. She was convinced that she was possessed, to the point of going to a preast for an exorcist. My guess is that for her, it was just her bad luck. nothing spiritual but it scared the hell out of her. Is it really possibly worth having those same thoughts after using an ouija board? I have gone to medium development classes & I know how to protect myself but I would not ever dream of using an ouija board. Far too dangeruos. Best wishes Eddie    Report

There are a lot of fake mediums out there but I bet that those fake mediums would think twice before using an ouija board. I have had plenty of proff that spirits exist in my travels, fortunatly I have not met up with an evil one yet. Knowing how to protect your self is of paramount importance. This teaching come from going to a spiritual development class. Anyone using an ouija board without protection is like playing with fire, sooner or later, you could get burned. An example of peoples words. I have been using an ouija board for years, nothing have happened to me. 'SIZZLE SIZZLE SIZZLE, CRACKLE & POP.' Get my drift. Best wishes Eddie    Report

There has been a lot of rubbish written about these devices on this thread, the majority of it unfounded superstition without any basis of fact whatsoever. After a time I learned to do this my self. Not all the Chans in china, could get me to use an Ouja board by myself. (And thats a lot of Chans) As to using the Ouja board. Try & explain when using, feeling icy cold blasts of air as phychological effects. They are just like ice cold blasts of air, At Buffers Cromer I felt these ice cold sensations with a difference. My upper body was boiling hot (Extreamely hot) & my lower body was freezing cold. When you feel these sensations you know only too well that it goes way beyond phycological. Its a very weird sensation to experience. Not to mention hard to explain. The only way that comes close would be that you feel freezing cold, inside & out. It permeates the whole body. If you agree, good.  If you dont agree,  then we will have to agree, to disagree. I guess that it doesnt realy maters at the end of the day, I know that I've tried to help someone from getting there fingers severly burned. ZIZLE, SIZLE, POP!!!!!!!!!!! Me and 3 other will be doing it 3 males, we will be doing it in an old house owned by one of my friends therefore it doesnt bring spirits into mine or any of theres. You will not change my mind by what you say but i would appreciate it if you could give me some information on anything to do to protect myself, i heard you can put a light of an angel around you or something not sure how but i would like to know so if anyone does please tell me. Its basically a visualisation exercise really. You all need to form a linked circle, close your eyes. One of you needs to say out loud the following. All take in some deep breaths, as you breathe in imagine breathing in pure white light and as you breathe out imagine all your worries and concerns leaving you. After a few of these you all then need to visualise a ball of white light on the floor between your feet, you then visualise this ball getting bigger and traveling up your body until it covers you completely. Now expand this ball and pass it round the circle to the left until it comes back to you. Then you all visualise it expanding above your head to you have a dome of pure white light covering you all. Now ask that your spirit guides and guardian angels please step forward and that they keep you safe from harm and that they keep harmful spirits away. When you have finished repeat the above process with the ball of white light, except during the breathing imagine breathing out any harmful energies that might have come through. Thank any spirits, spirit guides and guardian angels for their help and ask now that they all step back and that none go with you from that place. Please follow your gut instincts and if you feel that its not going well, ask the spirits to step back and close it down, always remain safe. There are many ways to do this visualisation and many people have different views on this, but what is important is your intent behind the exercise. There are other ways of protecting including the use of various crystals of which i hope others will share with you. Off the top of my head 'Hematite' is a good grounding stone and 'Chlorite' which protects against negative energies and entities. Wish you well and stay safe. Dave www.hauntedweekend.com    Report

I was wondering what to say to welcome the spirits and the pefect words to close the board. The house is not available anymore so we are thinking about doing it in an abandon B&Q. If there is any better places that you think we should do could you mention them. Our houses are not possible, would it be ok to do it in a woods oron a field or something like that or will there be no spirits.   Thanks for your replies Josh.    Report

It dosn,t matter where you do it as there are spirits everywhere, its more important that you are not interfering with places that people have to live and that you yourself are safe from harm from the spirit world and this world. To answer james: I have no personal knowledge of the ouija board except for its history, how its meant to work and the personal experiences of those i have met and have read about. I personally havn't heard of any physical attacks by spirit, but i have witnessed a persons change in character after use of one; they became very depressed and withdrawn. There have been many other such reports of mental problems and as far as i can tell, none of them performed any protection. The problem is the victorians took an ancient scrying technique and turned it into a game, but omitted the safeguards that came with it. I have done investigations and know from experience spirit can affect you menatlly and physically if not properly protected, but usually this is the spirit just messing about( such as poking u in the side, messing with yer hair or making you feel sick) not usually maleovant. I reguarily sit in circle and look for ways to increase my awareness as much as possible. I also try to learn as much as possible from others and through research. Im a reiki level 2 and now learning crystal healing, both of which are energy work which ive found helps with the spiritual side of things and also helps to increase awareness. Most of my sensing is through clairsentience and aura work. I also do spirit contact through scrying with pendulams, mirrors and water. I would not consider myself an expert, but a very enthusiastic person who takes it seriously and always learning. Ive been doing this now for just over 2 years and dont know where it will eventually lead me, but i know i want to use all i learn to help others.
