Duke's Head inn - Wacton
I have been tracing my ancestry and find that on my father's side several generations resided in Wacton. My Great grandfather was the Innkeeper of the Duke's Head Inn which was decomissioned in the early 1960s.

Does the building/pub still exist? Is it actually in Long Stratton rather than Wacton.

Finally, is there anyone else out there who has an interest in the surname Smith in Wacton/Long Stratton?

Any replies welcome.

Thanks

Peter Smith

The Duke's Head is in the parish of Wacton according to the Norfolk Pubs site.

Try this:-  http://www.norfolkpubs.co.uk/norfolkw/wacton/wactdh.htm

Hi Thanks for the link - Yes I found that and my Great Gandfather is listed there as innkeeper. I was curious to know whether the bulding still existed. I also wondered whether it was in Long Stratton rather than Wacton itself.
