I was just posting this because I had entered the Next Big Thing competition, but sadly failed to make it. I then came across the forum in which you guys were just questioning the selection process because you wondered how all the selected bands managed to soud Indie-like. I was rather surprised because I thought judging was going to be a fair process, but after reading these posts and listening to the new bands that were selected, i see that you all have a very valid point. I was hoping therefore that maybe some of you would take the time to visit www.myspace.com and type in Ignorance Of A Rival. Hopefully that should bring up my band and give you the songs that we entered into this competition. I would greatly appreciate it if you could maybe give me some feed back and let me know if a) the music is slightly/quite different and worth listening to or b) if I should pack it in and give up hope! I only ask because it seems to me that the selected semi-finalists are a bit "samey" and I would like to think there is still the thirst for our kind of music. Anyway, any comments would be great and this email is in no way bitter at all, it is merely questioning whether or not I should take this "rejection" as a sign that we can't cut it, or merely that we are a little different and therefore not easily mouldable. Er, actually, I just realised that if you do as i said and go to www.myspace.com and then type in ignorance of a rival then you won't get to my band site. Instead, go to www.myspace.com/ignoranceofarival or http://www.channel4.com/apps26/userpages/UserPage/bands/viewUserPage?resourceId=151319nSw  and hopefully you'll get to see/hear some of our stuff. Anyway, as i said in my previous email, any feedback would be extremely helpful because I'm still ever so curious as to why we did not qualify for the semi's, so guess I am anxious to find out if we really aren't good enough! lol! Er, go to youtube and just type in Ignorance of A Rival and see some vids of us live in action. Thanks to those who've taken the time to check us out, much appreciate it, but still would love feedback too. Please rate us/slate us on youtube.
