John Crisp, local singer/songwriter
Hi all - I've got a copy of a recording (vinyl LP) by John Crisp dating from 1983, entitled 'A weekend in East Anglia'. It consists of some mostly very amusing folk songs in a Norfolk/North Suffolk accent and dialect. Does anyone know what happened to him? He used to appear regularly on local TV and radio in the 1980's. I'd like to know if he made any other recordings, and if any of them are still available. I've searched the web and local libraries thoroughly but have drawn a complete blank. Any info welcomed!

Many thanks.

The EDP mention (today 22/2/05) is the publication of a letter from me, which I was delighted to see the editor chose to display with an archive photo of John Crisp. 'Farmer on a bike' is one of the tracks on 'A weekend in East Anglia', and was also issued as a single, backed with 'Eastern Counties Bus' (which is not on the album).

The scriptwriter web page does look like an interesting lead - I'll follow it up once some further response has come from the EDP letter (or possibly more from this forum...!)

Kind regards,

Met John Crisp on Saturday 8 Oct 2006 in the Pheonix Artists Bar, Charing Cross, London. Didn't know who is was, but we got talking about guitars etc. Seemed like an alright and amiable bloke.
