Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.
Yes John, we're aware of this document at Thorpe Island.  Unfortunately not many others are as the BA have pulled their favourite trick of burying it on their website under a fanfare of silence.  I'm still digesting it but it makes disturbing reading, and shows all the usual traits of control freakery for the sake of it etc etc.  More of this later when I've really had a good look!

Incidentally I went to see my Aunt and Uncle at Aylsham yesterday.  Classic EDP readers, middle class etc etc and guess what?  Started discussing the liveaboard situation and of course they thought that the Broads were a National Park due to the constant barrage of BA press releases recycled in the press with those National Park words incorporated...I soon put them straight!

It's a wibbly wobbly world

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

In the case of Martham there is not much that any flood water that actualy gets that far up the system could harm. There are some very nice farms with very good land and some pasture but the land rises quite steeply away from the broad to the south and to the Horsey road side is wet grazing. I concede that water getting out of Martham Broad could possibly flood West Somerton and also creep around the marshes to bits of Bastwick but would have thought the risk from the sea was far greater and compensating for a bit of flooding far cheaper than whacking up even bigger banks. Any way, unless their spill zones work, building higher banks will only serve to hurry the water upstream carrying more destructive salinity further upstream in times of surge tides.

Wonder who Halcrow and Nuttall are and what connections they have with government ministers. They seem to have a finger in a lot of pies.

Good to see you back Wibble. It seems to me that the B.A.are a law unto themselves.Consultation documents,"What consultation document" Not everyone is on-line.It is going to take a good lawyer to bring the B.A.to task. What with banning canoes, imposing charges where they have no juristriction and in general exceeding their authority outside of their remit as A FAMILY MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL PARKS.John

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

Anybody fancy setting up a legal case against them?

I wonder how many would donate for a fund?

I have a good suggestion for a legal firm.

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.
One big problem Keith. There are too many individuals and private clubs already taking legal advice re the Broads Bill through their petitions.I am just wondering what is going to happen should the Broads Bill get through parliament. Is there the will power and finances to put in a appeal to the House of Lords. We are talking big money which is going to take the will power of everyone opposed to the Bill.I don't know who is financing the present petitions but I would be looking forward as if the B.A.had got their way.I certainly would donate towards any fighting fund if requested.John

Ignore those intent on disrupting threads, Keith.

Responding to them gives the attention that they want.

Yes I will.

It is good to see Wibble back on here.

I would like to know what he and his friends decide to do about this BA insult.

I respect other peoples views Ernie.I have had rollickings in the past and brought to task if I speak a untruth. What I don't or won't do is force my opinions on others, nor in my opinion does Keith or any other subscibers to this thread.John
