Tragic Cromer Army Accident 23rd June 1943
My father, REGINALD ROBERT CARPENTER died on 23rd June 1943 in a tragic army gun accident at Cromer. He was serving in the army, on coastal defences in the war. I would like to hear from anyone who may have access to any newspaper reports, army records or any other reports that might give me more details of this accident. I would also like to know more about the activities of this unit, working at Cromer at this time. Possibly someone in the area still, may have been serving in the same unit at the time of the accident?
