Just a quick note to say thanks to everyone that came to the gig, especially anyone supporting me, it was much appreciated! Also congratulations to the Pistolas on the win! If anyone has any comments on the gig, it would be good to hear them?! Will Overton.

Well what can i say that has not been said either at the end of the event or here on the forum. Will Overton or Abyss were by far the best acts on the night so why did they not win??? Judging by the mass exodus when the winners came back on stage to play their victory song i think that in itself shows the feeling of many a person!!! If the competition is to be judged on the artists vocal and songwriting abilities then surely you should be able to understand what the hell they are singing about!!! Perhaps if the before mentioned acts were to throw equipment about the stage or to scream down the mic they might have won?????!!!! I dont think i stand alone on these comments! Unlucky Will & Abyss you was robbed!!!

All i can do is agree with what has already been said & i for one left the UEA in disbelief & yes, I was part of the mass exodus. Having listened, several times to the CD handed to me as i left hasnt helped either, I still cant understand what the judges were thinking.

Jesus! wtf is the matter with you people? you cant even understand what he's saying try cleaning out your ears. Ellis have not taken it 'badly' its not a slate on anyone..ok the judges picked the Pistolas and I think that shows that the judges could understand what he was singing about. Perhaps if the before mentioned acts were to throw equipment about the stage or to scream down the mic they might have won?????!!!! Do you think that was put on especially for the comp? because you're wrong thats what he does at most of his shows. In all honesty you sound like a wounded Will Overton fan.

I can see why the Pistolas won, and I don't see why people are too bothered; whoever won, it was a great showcase for local music and good exposure for all the acts involved. Congratulations and good luck to The Pistolas for the upcoming Waterfront and UEA gigs.

I cant believe people have to get so offensive because the band they went to support didn't win. I was there for The Pistolas who did us proud (once again) but if they didn't win I would have been pleased for the winning act and would not dream of slating them on this website. Well done Elenor for standing up for the Pistolas. When The Pistolas were announced as "THE NEXT BEST THING" I saw the crowd loving it and screaming for The Pistolas. Everyone was dancing to their well deserved victory songs from what I could see. This band is awesome. Yes they go mad and throw things about but that is The Pistolas. Why bother going to a competition if you cant open your mind to great new music. WELL DONE PISTOLAS YOUR THE WELL DESERVED "NEXT BIG THING" HEE HEE!! I LOVE THE PISTOLAS

I turned up on sun night as a NEUTRAL after seeing the event advertised in the edp. I wanted to see what Norfolk had to offer in the way of new talent - which to be fair is pretty damn good!!! The comments i made previously were made because that was what i felt after seeing all the acts on sunday night not because im a fan of either ABYSS or WILL OVERTON!! The Pistolas musical ability could not be faulted at all but in my opinion vocally there was better on the night. All in all i think everyone would have enjoyed the night out what ever the out come was, especially the acts as it was great experience & exposure for them!...heres looking forward to next year!

if the criteria for the judges was the lyrics how did the pistolas get any points, you couldnt hear the lyrics. I don't understand how a band with basically no applause (and everyone left when they won) beat other bands who made the audience clap????? Through most of the night i was bored, until abyss came on and their songs were really good, i thought finally a band with some talent. But the best act of the night was will overton, his songs were amazing i was singing centerfold for 3 days!! The impact on the audience was amazing. i am a little biased though as i have been to many of will's gigs, this is because this boy has real god given talent and he is amazing, he will make it one day i garentee it!!! WE LOVE YOU WILL!!! lOVE PIN HEAD X X X

To my thinking the reason a few people left when The Pistolas were playing their VICTORY SONGS was because all you Will Overton fans were on the same bus home and you felt the need to leave. I could hear The Pistolas lyrics very well. Maybe you just didn't want to hear them. Maybe you were just there to support one band and not to support the local music scene as a whole. I thought Will Overton was very very good 2 but at the end of the day the judges found something damn special in The Pistolas and chose them as the winners so why not be happy for them. Local bands should be working together not against each other. I don't really know why you feel the need to slag The Pistolas off because it wont change the fact that they won. I think all this slagging other bands off should stop. All the bands that played that night are really really talented. That is why they were in the final and I feel they all played really good sets. I had a really cool night listening to the variety of music around. Thank you to all the bands that took part.

It is physically making me feel sick, day i n day out having to read all this negative feedback. 1) Pistolas lyrics could be heard and people DID clap. 2) ITS JUST A BAND COMP! ok so Will didn't win that doesn't mean that will is awful and rubbish and all the other bands are too. If they were naff they wouldn't have been on the stage. It was a variety and chance for all the bands concerned to play together and have a good night..show off there musicall talents etc. I'm so sick of all this bad feeling and I Can't believe it is STILL going on!
