08/05/2005, 8:26 PM Dek Joined on 15/08/2003 Norwich Posts 1,042 V.E.Day Iwas sound asleep in bed, to be awakened by shouts, bells ringing and plenty of noise....the war in Europe was over..I jumped out of bed and ran to the bedroom door, then Pain!! my big toe came in contact with the Gerry and split open !!  After getting it bandaged up spent the rest of the night sitting around a huge bonfire which was blazing away in the middle of Gertrude Road.  My only physical encounter with a Gerry first hand.    It`s hard to believe that it was sixty years ago though.   Laugh, and the wife laughs with you. Snore and you`ll sleep alone.    Report
