Anyone need or able to share information?

Jane Aldridge 15/11/2004, 11:11 AM

Hi

I am new to the forum and have been tracing my ancestry for nearly two years.  I have been researching both the Gotts name (Southrepps, Thorpe Market, Trunch, Ingworth) and Woods (Ditchingham), also Colman (Trunch/Mundesley).

If anyone would like any information or has any information to share, then let me know.

Thanks

Jane Aldridge

Have you seen the Norfolk Roots website?

The forums may help, and there is some info on the Gotts surname:

Hi Jane and Planman,

I have the transcribed the Ingworth parish registers for mariages April 3, 1758 - Oct 31, 1852.  There are very large gaps with no marriages recorded so it is also advised that the Archdeacons Transcripts be looked at, which may hold the recordings in those.

These are the marriages for GOTTS that I found in those. (Parish registers)

Samuel CHAPMAN, of Hanworth, bachelor, & Susanna HOWES, alias Susanna GOTTS of Ingworth, single woman, married by Lic. Nov 2nd, 1817.  Both signed.  [Susanna signed as HOWES].  Witnesses:  Hannah CHAPMAN, Robt. GOULTER.

George GOTTS, single man & Susannah BASTARD, single woman, both of Ingworth, married by banns. Oct 12, 1831.  Both made their mark.  Witnesses: Joseph BURRELL X, Elizabeth Ann BASTARD, William RANDALL.

And in the Banns Register 1758- 1824 Ingworth.

Matthew GOTTS, single man of this parish & Sarah PERT, single woman of Aylsham, banns published Nov 17th, Dec 1st, and Dec 15th, 1822.  George COLEBY, Curate.

I have the burials in the Ingworth parish regs 1709 - 1812 , and the baptisms 1709/10 - July 26, 1812 transcribed - however, they are not yet computerised so will take a bit of digging.  Please PM me if you want these.

Matty, Vancouver Island.
