I met Iris in 1938 when I was on holiday in Gt.Yarmouth. She was at G.Y.Grammar School and I think she left school that year. We corresponded, then WW2 broke out.I joined the R.Navy and in 1942 I was posted to G.Yarmouth on a minesweeper. I met Iris again in 1943 when she worked at the GPO near the bridge. I was drafted to another ship out of Liverpool and I lost contact with Iris again. Then, early this year, I found her name in the Friends Reunited site. When I tried to contact her I made a mistake by clicking the wrong button and her name disappeared. I tried to explain things to Friends United but they accused me of entering her name. They decided to delete her name and after protesting I got no further. Not only would I like to clear my name regarding the accusation, but I would love to trace and meet Iris again. If there is anyone who recognises the name - I believe her father was an Inspector of Police at Gt.Yarmouth during the War years, I would love to hear from you.
