Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

So they are considering 3 elected members of the BA.

Hmmmm

Not exactly democratic, just paying lip service.

What of the RSPB?

Hi Keith.

You got a job on your hands if you think that 3 elected members are "short change" ?

Remember that the government is trying to get support so anything that covers their bases, even if it doesn't come up full, is better than a smack in the face !?

Think yourself lucky that you got a result, normally in local government your lucky to get a sh.t !!

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.
I always thought that to hold a election you first of all had to notify the public of the date and invite contestents to put their names forward together with their sponsors and declare any conflict of interest.A date then has to be fixed for a voting day and a independent scrutineer placed in charge of the proceedings.I have not seen any notice of a election, only forms to say that you are interested. There again it is only the Navigation side that is affected.John

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

Hi John.

That's all well and good but how many politicians have done what they say they are going to do ?

As far as the BA are concerned, the pressure on the "navigation" side will mean that intentions are about the only thing they will succeed with, action could be a problem due to "interested parties" leading the "flock"

Diving suit anyone !?

Paul

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

Still totally un democratic then.

Whoever gets voted in from Navigation, even if they do not sell out to the OBN, will still be out numbered by the un elected 'quangoites', from the dream dicky bird brigade.

NO not acceptable.

RSPB should be made responsible for the cost of any flood damage until PROPER changes are made.

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

Hi Keith.

Public interest issue's and human right's are something that quango'ites and self serving government departments, including John Packman and his "flock" have yet to "jump" over !!!

One is interested to see if the "democracy / transparency of the BA will improve or will the "flock" win over on all issue's, due, mainly to the none democratic nature of the voting system within the BA !?

Obviously, now under even more scrutiny now that we have three people on the BA that are now elected, and more to the point, and a point I made earlier, WILL the people be watching and do something when "the vote" takes place !!!???

Paul

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

WILL the people be watching Paul?

Do we have anybody working for the BA in our confidence?

It would be useful if they posted on this forum to keep the public up to speed on the plans as they unfold.

Very discreet these forums as to identity I believe.

Such a person could be saving lives from flooding, a nice reason to help change things.

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

Hi Keith.

Takes "balls" to stand up and be counted !

I honestly don't think that there is anyone on the BA with the "balls" after all, think about how much the RSPB is making on the subscriptions ?

Do you honestly think that one of these self serving "individuals" is going to put themselves up for "serious misconduct" with the earnings from subs, and their wage (s)

Nice little earner, RSPB and the BA, time to retire one thinks !

Diving suit anyone ?

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

Oh come on Paul, I remember some of my old training in these matters.

There has to be one amongst people like this, who has been shafted in the past and has an Axe to grind.

Perhaps they are already divulging things of interest!?

What would I know??

There is a long and interesting history of both the BA and the RSPB, I bet the 'people' would like to know more.

Think of the 'huge' amounts of the publics money they have spent for years and still have control over.

A lot more than buys a few muddy marshes for dicky birds.

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

Keith.

        Just one point.

The RSPB has an income that would possibly be 10 times that of the BA, an axe to grind ?

I had one with my previous employer, my local council, and I got "serious misconduct" for the priviledge of speaking my mind and "THE TRUTH"

I await the individual with the "balls" to put his / her name to his / her posting !!!

If the BA have nothing to hide, then why shouldn't he / she ????

Paul

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.
Remember Paul and Keith the priveledged elected Navigation members will only sit as a advisory panel and will not have any say whatsoever in the running of the authority. Will this take the course of the normal "council proceedures"? Take out the two or three people who are causing the most trouble, put them on a committee, and forever silent they will be.These tactics have been used for years.I know I will be bringing up a controversial point when I say that two or three people on that committee should be outsiders, they have the "balls" as Paul puts it,to stand up and be counted without showing any favours either way.It is all becoming too obvious now, that DEFRA,Natural England,R.S.P.B.National Trust will have the control of the B.A,But what I would like to know is,how are these people allowed to take part in any debate when it is quite obvious they have conflicts of interest to declare.Members of these organisations should not be allowed to cast a vote in matters arising in the Broads Bill.John

Re: R.S.P.B.Broads report.

It is good that this 'official corruption' is becoming obvious John.

It is essential to bring the truth to the local people who live under this 'dictatorship'.

The MP's that represent these people should be driving forward to wrest the filthy tentacles of this vested greed from around their subjects necks.
