With all the £3 fees that they have been charging everyone ...security for such a small airport should be the best............ sadly the fees probably get pocketed elsewhere..........

You mean the money they take from the traveling public does not go to airport improvements.
You dont say!
What did you expect, the local people let the council sell the airport into private ownership, they only have themselves to blame.
They feed on the peoples ignorance and complacency didn't you know?

It has been the greed fed by the government, with things like unlimited credit that has bred the complacent acceptance displayed by the ordinary poorly educated majority.
This is now coming to and end, as it had to.
Perhaps they will finally awake, it is their last chance if they wish to keep their freedom.
The Airport should be taken back into public ownership, as should many other things.
We should get rid of those who rip us off.

Hi Robert.
There appears to be attempts to control the flow of the threads, to kill certain issues off.
I am not sure if it is political in nature and motivated by election spin, or vested interest from the greed system.
It is obvious to anyone with any intelligence however.

The problem is the lack of regulations applied to airports under private management.
It makes me furious to think of all the waffle from government and the police about terrorism and then they let these private greed merchants get away with what could easily become murder by default.

My main gripe about the new security measures is the extortionate fee to park if a pick up is mistimed and a driver has to wait more than the few measly free minutes. Since Norwich Airport is the gateway to Schiphol and hence the rest of the world one wonders how serious the implications of a security breach really are.
Slack management to say the least.

ROTFL . Parking charges have nothing to do with security.
How many hospitals have introduced parking charges?
What's the incidence of terrorist attacks on hospitals/hospital car parks?
If you want to fly from/to Norwich, you can pay our charges. (You've gotta make a nickel or two )
Or go elsewhere ...
Some people will go elsewhere.

Parking charges can have a great deal to do with security, if the money raised pays for security staff and facilities.
At Norwich airport they restrict setting down and picking up, which is supposed to reduce risk, it does not, it only annoys people.
Do you mean terrorist attacks on hospitals and hospital car parks anywhere?
Hospitals are definitely potential targets and attempts to attack British hospitals may well have been planned.
Trying to defend the profits of an airport that obviously does not invest in proper security to protect its customers, sounds very much like a political move Rupert?
Those who own the airport do not deserve it.

Are you being silly again Jill, out for a scalp, hunting for a kill? Norwich airport is surrounded on three sides by housing, its is a security nightmare, not just at the gates. Management is continuously breaking flight agreements and Norwich needs affordable housing.
Anybody who wants to pollute the skies should pay for it with their time and money, whether it is in a car or a plane, the freeloading attitude has finally found its limitations, once oil is approaching the 200 dollar/barrel mark and Government subsidies to pollute are exposed, such activities will be looked upon as a silly period in our evolutionary timescale. Silly and selfish. nevermind

Just to listen to your consistent witterings when Norwich airport pollution on a global scale is minimalistic.
Why not have a go at China, USA and suchlike, they can make a difference
So because someone got through the gates and shouldnt have, you say Norwich Airport should be closed down
Gert real for goodness sake nevermind and get your head back from up in the clouds, you ridiculous person.

Ridiculous you may call me, but I am not as self centred and wastefull as you Jill, now stick your head back into the hole you came from and polish your pathetic excuses justifying your pollution charter.
You'll find that Greens all over the world are concerned about air pollution, whether its to do with exacerbating asthma, too many terminals, the tax priviledges of operators and airports, or the expansion into greenfield sites by airports, they are opposed by many in China as much as in the USA, but you will have to make an effort and read up about it.

I dont have to justify anything to you nevermind
When you get real and stop dreaming and come up with viable solutions that can and will be adaptable to modern living and life today, I will be all for it
Your ramblings about a pollution free dream utopia are pathetic especially when you do not seem to mind polluting the air around you with noxious substances, yet pontificate to others.
Anyway, this thread is about the security risk at Norwich Airport, not another plug for the Greens.
