Director of football at Peterborough, Barry Fry has confirmed goalkeepers Mark Tyler and Shwan Jalal are on the transfer list along with defenders Adam Smith and Daniel Blanchett, midfielder Josh Low and striker Danny Crow.

Posh signed Adam Smith from us last year and then loaned him back for a few games at the start of the season just gone. Josh Low would be very useful to a side like us, we are currently looking at an un-named midfielder. Although I doubt Darren Ferguson would let him go on the cheap!

Defender Rikki Bains who was on loan from Tamworth at the end of the Southern League campaign has today rejected a one year contract offer. This is disappointing it seems the player is holding out for a lucrative deal with a Conference Premier side.

After missing out on Daryl Clare who joined Rushden we had also tracked Barnet striker Anthony Thomas who yesterday joined Stevenage. King's Lynn's board have to work within the budget set and will not risk the financial stability of the club for one player.

Courtney Pitt, Mark Peters, Leo Fortune-West, Dan Chillingworth and Michael Hyem are five players who have not been offered new contracts at Cambridge United for next season!

Possible targets for Keith Webb?

Simon Weaver has revealed his decision to quit Blue Square North club Boston United for King's Lynn was down to money.

Weaver's six-month spell as a United player came to an end when the former Lincoln defender failed to agree a new contract with the club and opted to sign for King's Lynn.

United boss Tommy Taylor was keen to hold onto the 30-year-old defender but was restricted on the offer he could make thanks to a cut in the wages at the club.

Weaver travelling from his North Yorkshire home felt that the commute required to York Street was too much on the wages offered and will instead play for the Linnets whilst also working outside the game.

"I was hoping to stay, but was asked to take a major drop in wages," Weaver told the Sports Echo.

"I have to travel from Wetherby and on the money I was offered, I don't think I could have done it.

"I would have been happy to accept a drop in wages, but not what I was being offered."

Weaver leaves with no bad feelings towards the club and was thankful for the support handed to him by the Pilgrims faithful.

"It's disappointing, but there are no hard feelings from me," he added.

"Tommy Taylor is an honest guy and I'm sure he did what he could.

"I'm going to miss the club because they have a great set of fans. They give you great support and they are big crowds for that level."
