I have been lucky enought to be accepted onto the ILPH Aztec challenge, which takes place in Mexico in October/November 2009. I will be riding for many miles each day and stay in very basic accommondation at night. Whilst the trip itself will be difficult, the biggest challenge will be raising £2,700; something I have pledged to do for the ILPH in order to take part in the trip.
The ILPH is active in many countries around the world as well as in the UK. Their work covers many aspects from rehabilitating abused and neglected horses, ponies and donkeys, rehoming them with approved owners, and education people overseas in the best ways of looking after their horses.
The funds I raise through this challenge will go back into Mexico as part of the ILPH's work, helping rural Mexicans to look after their horses in a humane way. The country has a massive working horse population, and these horses play a vital role in the daily lives of their owners.
If you can spare any donation, item or service what will help me meet my pledge, I would be very grateful. You can pledge straight onto www.justgiving.com/katygant
I am taking on this challenge with my friend and we will be organising events throughout the coming 18 months, including BBQs, Mexican Themed Nights and Quiz Nights and trying to achieve much, much more. If you would like to help, have ideas or want to come and support us by taking part, please do not hesitate to contact me via my email - katy.gant@hotmail.com.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Regards
Katy
