A big party is being planned to celebrate a Norfolk stately home’s 10 years of staging pop music concerts.
More than 250,000 people have flocked to Blickling Hall’s lakeside open air arena for summer gigs ranging from rock and reggae to boogie-woogie and popular opera.
The EDP is keen to hear from the untold tales from front of house too involving the public. Were you proposed to in the romantic setting? Did you go into labour? Meet a long-lost friend? Or maybe you just have memories of top gigs, awful gigs, and amusing anecdotes from Blickling?
Let us know here.
I ,with my friend and close family members have been to several "gigs"Cliff Richard to Westlife.I have met relatives and friends there who I had no idea were coming as I now live in St albans. We have always had a great time and met some really lovely people such as the the lovely young lady with her parents that we chatted to,only to find she had cancer. The Dad had offered to send some photos on to me, as he had a reall y good camera. Time went by ,then a small parcel arrived , inside was not only some super photos but a letter apologising for the delay in sending them.
Status Quo should have a warning when they are on stage, to say remember you were a few years younger last time you saw us, so take it a bit easy when dance around !!!
Great music , great place ,great people, come along with friends or on your own and make friends.
I worked at Blickling Hall on one occasion as a casual waitress.
It was a lovely occasion when the people attending all dressed in period costume relevant to the time Blickling was first built.
It was something to see with the ladies and men in their beautiful clothes and wigs.
I saw someone I knew and he whispered to me if I told anyone he had been dressed in breeches and a wig, he would never speak to me again. ha ha.
