After the nasty series of events involving students and others beaten up and stabbed by racists recently in the Norwich area I wonder if the BNP can explain this photo of BNP members attending a neo-nazi march in Russia. British people will only take so much of this daft multi culturalism. It simply cannot work. As to the BNP. You must expect the policies of this current government to result in violence from the political extreme. It has recently surprised me just how much support the BNP actually has now, there is even large and to a certain extent reluctant support in the armed forces. BNP represent a certain part of British society.  They are as entitled to their views as are Labour, Tory, Lib Dem and UKIP members.  The reson they get so much support is simply as the main parties ignore the main areas BNP support and talk about.  There are many good people in BNP but also the radicals.  I know many guys in the UK armed forces who vote for them as the other main parties are anti military. The accomodation at RAF Coltishall was labeled unfit for immigrants to live in but acceptible for UK armed forces.  There is something so wrong with any government or country which allows this.    Report

Just because the political parties talk a load of rubbish you really shouldnt be under the illusion that anybody, like myself, that sees multiculturalism as an idiotic idea, would remotely share the vile and sickening pretence of 'mainstream acceptability' or doesnt see through the fact that a bunch of misfits and racists, hiding behind suits and bookshops, are doing their very best to get one over on people with genuine grievances. I agree that the BNP are as entitled as any other group ot express theri views and I don't challenge your statement that 'many guys in the UK armed forces ... vote for them as the other main parties are anti military' but the Forces alone don't account for the rise in (apparent) support for the BNP. There is a political party in Belgium called 'Vlaams Belang'.  It used to be called 'Vlaams Blok', but the Blok lost its political funding (granted to all legitimate parties) because its actions showed it was, quite clearly, a neo-nazi party. - It re-named itself and got the money back ... Well, it is a Belgian political party. Many of the people of Flanders (Northern Belgium) are unhappy with the way the government pours money (mainly from their taxes) into the impoverished Wallonian region - A region which, incidentally, has a large immigrant population and an impressive welfare roll.  They want independence (Belgium claims to host the EU and Brussels claims to be the 'Capital' of the EU, but they are having problems in keeping their own country united - let alone uniting Europe) The Belgians held national elections a couple of years ago.  The party which gained the most votes was the Vlaams Belang. - A couple of other parties had to unite to form a majority which could form a government - a government which refuses to allow any Vlaams Belang people a place. I lived in Belgium for a while (in the South, in Wallonia) and I have a number of friends in the North.  As far as I'm aware, Belgians - including Flemish Belgians - are a pretty easy-going and tolerant people and they certainly aren't neo-nazis. So why did the Vlaams Belang do so well? It was a protest vote.  None of the parties predominant in Wallonia appears to be competent and none of the parties in Flanders is much good, either.  The Belgian people - and particularly the Flemish - were totally disillusioned by the incompetence of their government and many of them couldn't see any future in the main-party opposition, so they used their votes as 'protest votes'.  There's an adage which says: "It doesn't matter who you vote for, because the government will get in, anyway."  That might have been true in the past, but I suggest that if the major parties don't start to listen to the people, then the minor, extremist, parties may well find themselves in power. Vote Green.  You know it makes sense. - If the Greens get in, then we won't have to work, because everybody will be entitled to a free, non means-tested 'Citizen's Income'. Tell us more about this citizens income Rupert, does that mean all benefits are scrapped as well and no more unemployed will exist? Does this mean that anybody is prohibited to work? as I understand it, this is a simplification of a totally derailed benefit system, now out of control and if you read what it actually means you might be surprised. nevermind    Report

A good thing that the alleged victims are described as Asian British really.  Had they simply been white guys you can bet your bottom dollar they would not be getting so much attention.  The report in the EDP says they were viscous thugs, maybe that makes them harder to catch as they slip through your fingers.....
