I lived in EAST HARLING, NORFOLK from 1950 to 1970. My Father used to tell me that JAMES PATTINSON lived in the village, and wrote books - one of which was SOLDIER SAIL NORTH.
I am trying to find if this was true. I bought the book, but there are no biographical details of James Pattinson. His name put onto Google only gives me a list of the books he wrote.
Can anyone offer help - or any links I could try ? Thanks ... Keith

My family and I lived at Primrose Lane, South Lopham until about 1950 and then we moved to Gasthorpe - I then attended
Thetford Secondary Modern School.
Anyway, as a lad my father attended Thetford Grammar School and a fellow pupil of his was a James Pattinson - the writer of, amongst
other titles, Soldier Sail North - I am not a great reader of books but I did read this and I derived a great deal of pleasure in doing so!!
I am unable to give any further info regarding James Pattinson but, should I come across anything I think may be of help to you, I will pass it onto you.
