‘Promoted’ clubs to play waiting game
Some promotion and relegation issues in the Norfolk Alliance will not be rubber-stamped until after tomorrow's final round of matches. The two clubs in contention for the promotion place in the West Norfolk League - an Alliance feeder league - do not currently meet all Alliance requirements in terms of ground facilities.

Witchingham aiming to top mini-league
Several titles are already in the bag - but it still promises to be a nerve-jangling final day for a host of clubs across Norfolk tomorrow. Swardeston won the Gibbs Denley EAPL title two weeks ago, but they could still play a key role in the battle for supremacy between the trio of Norfolk clubs near the bottom of the table - Great Witchingham, Norwich and Horsford.

Bombers to face Phoenix in final
Sunday's Junior Carter Cup final will be between Downham/Stow Bombers and Great Melton Phoenix. In last weekend's semi-finals, Great Melton beat Hales Herd by seven wickets in a match reduced to 25 overs per side.

Sheehan show is worthy of award
When Hardingham A's Glen Sheehan was thrown the ball last Saturday, no-one knew quite what to expect. The 43-year-old had not bowled this season, but was called upon to lead the attack as Hardingham's opening bowler was late arriving.

GIBBS DENLEY EAPL: Swardeston finally tasted defeat as their unbeaten record came to a dramatic end at Godmanchester on Saturday. Chasing 239 for victory, Godmanchester looked dead and buried when their eighth wicket fell with the score on 174.

LOVEWELL BLAKE NORFOLK ALLIANCE: Saham Toney sealed the Division Two title in style as they broke the Alliance record total for the second time this season. The record of 359 they set against Mundford last month stood for just four weeks as Saham racked up 362 for eight against Dereham.

Downham deliver title again
LOVEWELL BLAKE NORFOLK ALLIANCE: Downham duly retained the Premier Division title on Saturday - and sent Old Buckenham spinning into Division One. The champions were restricted to a 90pc winning draw by the bottom club, but it was enough to ensure the title heads west again and that Buckenham cannot escape finishing in the bottom two.
