Deanna Auker, marketing manager at the The Mall, Norwich
said: “The standard of entries received this year was
very high and with receiving so many it was very challenging
to choose the winners. I would have liked to pick them all!
Some of the schools really put a lot of thought into the type
of equipment they would like to buy and how it would enhance
their sporting activities, and with some also offering pictures
of themselves using their new equipment, it naturally made
it harder to choose.”
Simon Tomlinson, EDP marketing manager, said: “We were
overwhelmed with the amount of entries that were submitted
this year and the standard of entry was higher than ever. “It
was clear that many of the schools had taken a great deal
of time thinking about how they would use the money for sports
equipment if they were to win. The range of ideas was eye
opening, from trim trails to climbing walls and frames to
basic essentials like bats, balls, bibs and exercise mats.
It really emphasises the needs of our local schools for quality
sports equipment and reinforces why the EDP and The Mall Norwich
runs the Get Equipped School Sports promotion”
See the EDP on July 21, 2008, for a special eight-page supplement
celebrating the schools’ success.
